Three-button controller
I designed interactions for JBL Tune 310C's three-button controller, covering playback, volume, calls, and EQ modesEQ adjusts the balance of low, middle, and high tones. On these earphones, Default, Bass, and Vocal modes offer a few recognizable choices. Action priorities
I separated frequent actions from occasional settings. Volume adjustments require immediate access, while EQ switching needs protection against accidental activation.
Press duration
Short presses handle frequent actions. Longer presses support additional functions, including EQ switching, without adding buttons.
Interaction specifications
As part of HARMAN's hardware interaction design system in Figma, I documented press timing, feedback, and state changes as reusable components.
The specifications provide a shared reference for design, firmware, and QA, and can be reused in other products.
